Olivenhain Wildland Drill

                                            Firefighter training to be conducted in your neighborhood!

Encinitas Fire Department, in partnership with other North County fire departments, will conduct an Olivenhain training drill from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Mon, April 28
  • Tues, April 29
  • Wed, April 30

Purpose of training

  • Designed to train firefighters to prepare in the event of a vegetation fire
  • Training to keep the community and firefighters safe
  • Implementing wildland firefighting tactics and evacuation concerns and procedures

Who participates

  • Multiple fire agencies to include Encinitas, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Carlsbad and Rancho Santa Fe 
  • San Diego County Sheriff
  • Cal Fire helicopter
  • SDG&E

Community support

  • Firefighters will only be accessing pre-designated residences during the drill dates and times
  • Teams will be evaluating access and property clearance while being mindful to personal property
